- Make Right With Your Dad – This was an attempt at writing an original Christmas tune for our annual release. Though the story turns out to have a happy ending it’s just too sad to be a Post Road original. I intended for this to be a duet for Shawn and Sarah. Sarah would sing the first verse and first chorus. Shawn would then respond with the 2nd verse and chorus.
- I Miss My Boyfriend – I’ve re-written this song a number of times. I have a version from the male point of view as well as this version from the female point of view. Hopefully this song will become a Post Road release. I used a cool technique where I tapped on the strings of my Martin guitar with a pencil. I learned about this approach via a podcast interview with studio legend Reggie Young .
- Mexican Sun – Here’s a song that talks about the bad things that can happen when you don’t finish a drink. I borrowed the all too familiar ‘island’ chord progression. This is one of the first songs where I utilized many of the production features available in the GarageBand application.
- Rock Bottom – Here’s an original that asks the question ‘how does one know when they’ve hit rock bottom’. This song is built off of a simple two chord introduction that uses a very dark and ominous chord (augmented 5th). This is not really in the style of the current genre of country music so this one may just rest right here on this page for a while.
